In accordance with our "wilderness" atmosphere, this area is inaccessible to automobiles, however, convenient transportation is available via train and plane service. Your trip begins the moment you board the train and leave your automobile and worries behind (temporarily at least).

Our train in service provides convenient and affordable access combined with generous baggage limits (rates are approximately $36.00 Cdn. round trip). The Cartier train station is located just 1 hr north of Sudbury on highway 144 north, parking is both safe and free. The Budd Car arrives in Cartier at 9:45 a.m. and departs from the town of Cartier at 10:00 a.m. and arrives in Metagama at 11:10 a.m.. The train departs Metagama at 3:45 p.m. and delivers you back to Cartier at 4:55 p.m. Tickets should be purchased in advance to guarantee seating. on the train or by ordering on the Web at: www.viarail.ca
When ordering tickets select the Sudbury/White River or Lake Superior Train. Click on the “All Stations” field to select Cartier/Metagama or Biscotasing Station for ticketing. For those trips ending in Metagama select Cartier to Matagama return. For those going on to Sinker Siding (West End) select Cartier to Biscotasing. Please Note: Substantial discounts are available thru advance purchase of child/student and senior tickets.
